Jeana was removed from her mother's care after many years of physical and emotional abuse. Her mother suffers from mental issues and Jeana's first 9 years were lived in a chaotic environment. She was moved frequently and often did not attend school for months on end. She was in a series of foster homes for 10 months and was then reunited with her father whom she hardly knew. She has adjusted quite well after some expected bumps. He father struggles financially, but is determined to make a home for Jeana and eventually get full custody. Jeana is a sweet, playful and talkative pre-tween, sadly she missed so much of her childhood and is struggling with social skills and academics. She is far behind academically though she has worked hard to try to catch up. Jeana has received some one on one tutoring and is rapidly making gains, but is still behind grade level. She has become more confident and has requested additional tutoring. I am certain with more tutoring she will grade level by the end of the school year.
