An Ipad for Ashley to finish her Master's Degree

Ashley, 35 years old

Wish submitted by:

Foster Alumni Mentors

Ashley was born to parents who both had mental health disorders and developmental delays. When she was 14 her father was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease and passed away only eight months later. Her mother was unable to care for her and her sister and they ended up in foster care. Living in a group home she graduated from high school and went on to college where she graduated with her degree in Psychology. She has done a lot with her life, including joining the military, getting married, and having beautiful children of her own. She is currently working in hospice to help others through their grief. She received her Master's in Social work in May 2022. and hopes to advocate for children in foster care, as her team advocated for her.

An iPad would be an efficient and economical gift for Ashley to get through her graduate studies. A lot of school books are cheaper in the electronic version rather than the textbook which are quite expensive. It would save a lot of money purchasing e-books which are compatible on the iPad. She would also love to have the iPad for leisure. Having children, she loves to spend any extra money she has on them and making sure they have their needs met before she makes any purchases for herself. Ashley is such a kind-hearted and loving person who had a difficult childhood and is making the best out of it by building up her family and helping those who are in foster care know they can be successful and do well in life despite their struggles.
