Moses, 18 years old

Charlottesville Department of Social ServicesMoses is an energetic young man who loves his family. He has been through many adversities over the past several years including being placed in foster care. At times, he felt like giving up but kept moving forward. He has worked hard to build his self-confidence and form meaningful relationships. His motivation is wanting to be with his family permanently. Moses is very active and loves to play basketball. His goal is to complete school and focus on his passion for sports. He is described by his family as loving, hard-working, and resilient.
Moses's goal is to complete his high school education while focusing on his passion for sports. Before the COVID-19 pandemic that led to the school shutdowns, Moses was on track to complete the 6th grade. When his school shutdown in March, he experienced many difficulties continuing his school work from home due to a lack of appropriate technology. One of the expectations, while he is in foster care, is for him to achieve good grades in his classes. His wish is to receive a laptop to better allow him the ability to complete his schoolwork remotely. His family works hard to provide for his needs but is unable to provide a laptop for him at this time.
