A Tablet for Shana to participate in virtual therapy
Shana, 20 years old
Wish submitted by:
CASA IN - Batholomew CountyShana is a resilient teenager who is working through the worst kind of trauma. She has never experienced a functional family and struggles in foster care. Despite this, she works hard at school and looks forward to a future when she can be independent and self sufficient. Shana makes great grades and wants to attend Indiana University some day where she will study to be a nurse for people with developmental disabilities.
When a foster home needs a break, they have the option to send foster children into "respite" care, which is a temporary placement in another foster home. Unfortunately, Shana is shuffled around in respite care often, as she struggles to maintain any placement due to her trauma. During COVID, Shana began seeing her therapist via Zoom, but keeping scheduled appointments has proven difficult when she is in respite care. Having her own tablet would allow her to keep a regular schedule of therapy that is so important in her recovery. She would really appreciate this gift!
