As the youngest of 5 children, Angelique entered the foster care system at 5 years-old due to her parent's substance use. For a period of time she was separated from her siblings and families and endured several placements and significant trauma. During her high school years, both of her parents passed away. However, throughout her life, both before and during foster care, Angelique turned to her education to cope with my family life and she believes this saved her for falling into similar cycles. She has found her way into the the world of advocacy and has made it her mission to fight for education services for youth in foster care so they too can become stable, self sufficient adults.
