A shopping spree for Mackenzie who is starting senior year of high school

Posted Aug 19, 2021
Mackenzie is starting her senior year of high school in less than 2 weeks. She will be going to a new school since her foster home changed during the summer. She is really nervous to change school because she is shy and nervous about not making friends. Mackenzie was able to lose 15 pounds this summer by exercising and dieting! Her caseworker and CASA are so proud of her. Because of her weight loss, she will need some new clothes for school.

Mackenzie is 20 years old and lives in NJ

Mackenzie has been in and out of foster care for most of her life. She has struggled with adjusting to her ever-changing environment, and often feels caught between what is best for her and her siblings and what her parents want her to do. She is always looking out for her brother and sister, and feels protective over them. She has had her fair share of troubles, but is a true survivor.
