Alex is requesting Echo Frames with Amazon Alexa to help improve his quality of life. Echo Frames are smart sunglasses with speakers. They can be voice activated, which would help Alex due to his severe physical and visuals deficits. These glasses would help him make phone calls, set reminders, hear notifications, and receive and send text messages independently. With these sunglasses, Alex will be able to overcome barriers for communication and increase safety while in the community and at home.
Alex is 32 years old and lives in PA
Alex is a caring and hilarious young man who suffers from a rare genetic condition that impacts his movement, his vision, and his hearing. Despite these challenges, Alex always finds a reason to smile and brings joy to the lives of those around him. He never fails to crack a joke if someone is having a bad day. In his free time, he enjoys gaming, listening to youtube videos created by other gamers who are blind, and listening to movies with audio descriptions. His favorite game is Gears of War, and he can tell you any piece of trivia about the game. Alex dreams of living independently, and is working hard with his rehab specialists to gain skills needed for community living. Technology allows him to be safer and more independent with his daily routines.
