Jelani is a sweet and caring child who is the eldest of 4 siblings and always takes on the protective older brother role. Jelani belongs to the 21st Century Club at his school, where they do various STEM activities, and he loves his Karate classes. Jelani loves school and he is great at reading, writing, and math. Jelani also collects Pokémon cards and is so happy that he has a new Nintendo Switch. Jelani is now separated from his siblings and greatly enjoys his visits with them.

Jelani and his sibling are placed together but were recently separated from their sister who resides in a different resource home. Jelani is able to call his sister but would like to be able to video chat with her. If he had a Chromebook, they could talk more often. Jelani is the oldest of four and only a year apart from the sister who went to a different home. He was used to taking care of his younger siblings and is having a hard time being away from them. A laptop would help them feel closer together and assist with school when projects that need to be done on a computer.
