Stephanie is new to foster care. She is an immigrant from a Central American Country where things were dangerous and difficult for her. She came to America and still faced some of the abuses. When she found out she was pregnant, she was placed in Foster Care, where help is being sought for her in her and her baby's care. She tends to be very scared, doesn't understand much English and is striving to stay healthy but she is also trying to get used to the food that she has available to her. She now has her baby, born in the last month or so. She is learning the basics of parenting and caring for an infant.

Stephanie stated to staff that she felt she accidentally broke the pencil sharpener at school because "she was using it too much". She says the sharpener now doesn't work and she feels bad. We know she is not responsible for replacing it, but we want to support her to feel better in her classroom. Especially since she likes sharp pencils.
