Alondra spent years in foster care, bouncing between her biological family and different foster care homes. Every time she went back to her family the cycles of trauma started again. She finally aged out and has been on her own ever since. She is in school full-time, and is hoping to transfer to a four year university in 2022. Alondra is so proud that she is the first in her family to graduate high school and attend college.

Alondra has recently moved out on her own, and had worked with her independent living coordinator to map out her finances to make sure she could pay her rent. Unfortunately, she received an overdue bill that she thought was taken care of from five years ago, and in order to restore her good standing she had to pay it immediately, leaving her short for her January rent. Alondra is hoping for a helping hand just for this month, so she can get on her feet and get ahead of her finances.
