Kayla would like a pair of headphones because listening to music is her preferred coping mechanism whenever she feels stressed, anxious, or down. Given that she recently secured a placement for when she ages out of care, this request would serve as a celebratory gift for the accomplishment. In addition, it will allow her to cope healthily with a new living situation and to speak more comfortably and privately with her support system.
Kayla is 24 years old and lives in NY
Kayla is a curious learner who enjoys making connections with people. She also enjoys dancing and listening to music. Kayla is interested in advocating on behalf of others who have also experienced life as a youth in foster care. Therefore, in the future, she would like to be a lawyer, community organizer, or a social worker.
