Foster Alumni MentorsAshley was born to parents who both had mental health disorders and developmental delays. When she was 14 her father was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease and passed away only eight months later. Her mother was unable to care for her and her sister and they ended up in foster care. Living in a group home she graduated from high school and went on to college where she graduated with her degree in Psychology. She has done a lot with her life, including joining the military, getting married, and having beautiful children of her own. She is currently working in hospice to help others through their grief. She received her Master's in Social work in May 2022. and hopes to advocate for children in foster care, as her team advocated for her.
Ashley is so excited for spring to arrive, and she has found that composting is very beneficial to her lifestyle. She is currently just throwing her compostable items in in a bin in her back yard by her garden. She has noticed an increase in mice, which she is horribly terrified of and would love to have a compost container to contain and seal the compost so it doesn't bring unnecessary rodents and other animals.
