Lewi was born in Ethiopia and sadly, both of his birth parents were both killed. His aunt took him and his 2 other siblings into her home, but became overwhelmed and decided to make an adoption plan for Lewi. Lewi was adopted by an American family and began the hard work to become acclimated to his new country. Due to the loss of his parents and siblings, he struggled with behaviors. His adoptive family decided they could not continue to parent him and had him placed into foster care. Lewi continued to struggle with his emotions and was placed into several residential care facilities, without making much positive improvement. However, when he was placed into a new facility last year, he decided he wanted better for himself, he wanted to graduate from high school, get and job and become a successful adult. Since that decision, Lewi worked hard in therapy, his relationships and school work. He successfully stepped down from residential and is now in a foster home, looking forward to being a typical young man. I feel Lewi has made amazing progress in himself and will continue to work hard to do whatever he decides he wants to do.
