A Pair of Riding Boots for Lynn who can't wait to go to horse camp

Posted Jun 22, 2022
Lynn will be attending horse camp this summer for the very first time. She is nervous, excited, and a little bit scared, but is going to be brave and try it because she LOVES horses! She doesn't need much for camp, but they do require real riding boots, not the type that you get from Target. She has always wanted real boots like her equine therapists have and without them won't be able to go to horse camp.

Lynn is 12 years old and lives in CA

Lynn is a very withdrawn, often times sullen, little girl. She struggles with anxiety and depression, which is common for people who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol and drugs. When she is feeling safe in her environment, she is a sweet and caring child, and lights up when she's around cats and horses. She hates school and being outside and would prefer to watch shows and play computer games. She does not like that her mom won't let her do that for more than a couple hours each day though. Thankfully, she does like building with Legos, and is really good at it, so that gives her something to do when she can't have screens and occasionally drawing dragons from her favorite dragon series, How to Train Your Dragon.

"Lynn was ecstatic to get her boots! She said that she has always wanted purple sparkly boots and was extra happy to be able to wear them to her equine therapy session this week to break them in a little bit. When she received them she said, "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I wish you could have seen the joy in her eyes! The attached picture was taken of her at equine therapy this week."
