A New Bike for Everett who is very active and loves playing outside
Everett, 17 years old, NC
Wish submitted by:
Mecklenburg County Guardian ad LitemEverett lives with his aunt, her husband, and their child in a kinship foster placement. When he entered care, he had to start at a new high school and was upset about being separated from his twin brother, but he made friends quickly. He loves to play games and fix things. He got a job and is excited to make his own money! Everett has struggled academically, but after coming into foster care, he was diagnosed with dyslexia, and he has made great progress in his reading by working with a dyslexia specialist! He has a great sense of humor and adds energy and playfulness to any situation. He is enrolled in a program preparing him for trade school. He hopes to be a mechanic, a welder, or a plumber.
In his foster placement, Everett has really enjoyed riding around the neighborhood using the bikes of his foster siblings even though they are too small for him, and he talks a lot about how he would like one of his own. His foster family likes to go for bike rides and they have said they would like to take all the kids to ride on local greenways and on mountain bike trails. Everett also wants to learn how to do tricks on the bike, safely of course! He can't wait to get a bike of his own, and have fun all summer long outside.
