Foster Alumni MentorsAshley was born to parents who both had mental health disorders and developmental delays. When she was 14 her father was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease and passed away only eight months later. Her mother was unable to care for her and her sister and they ended up in foster care. Living in a group home she graduated from high school and went on to college where she graduated with her degree in Psychology. She has done a lot with her life, including joining the military, getting married, and having beautiful children of her own. She is currently working in hospice to help others through their grief. She received her Master's in Social work in May 2022. and hopes to advocate for children in foster care, as her team advocated for her.
Ashley has taken up her new found hobby of paddle boarding, she is so excited to get on the river and local lakes with her sister. She does not have any type of safety gear and would really love this new life jacket. She would love one that doesn't ride up when she is seated and that is not so bulky when she is on the river and trying to steer her board.
