Joselyne was born in a refugee camp in Tanzania. Her biological parents came from Burundi and fled there to escape the civil war. Unfortunately, Joselyne was unable to be adopted because she lacked a birth certificate. Tanzania claims she is a Burundian citizen, while Burundi asserts that she is a Tanzanian citizen. Since entering foster care, Joselyne’s permanency team has been fighting for her citizenship. Despite the challenges she has faced, Joselyne is a beautiful and intelligent young lady with big plans for her future. She aspires to become a labor and delivery nurse. With her kind spirit, Joselyne is determined to give back to the world.

Jocelynne shares a bathroom, but would love to her own space in her room to do her hair and makeup. Jocelynne often gets ready early in the morning and would like to do so in her own room without being interrupted by the other kids in the home. She loves this makeup vanity table that has room for all of her makeup and hair accessories, a mirror, and a little stool.
