Everett, 17 years old, NC |

Mecklenburg County Guardian ad LitemEverett lives with his young aunt, her husband and their one-year-old child in a kinship foster placement. He just started at a new high school and was upset about being separated from his twin brother, but he has made friends quickly and even went to Homecoming in October. He loves to play games and fix things. He just applied for a job at Chick-Fil-A and is excited to make his own spending money! Everett has struggled academically but after coming into foster care, he was diagnosed with dyslexia, and he has made great progress in his reading by working with a dyslexia specialist! He has a great sense of humor and adds an energy and playfulness to any situation. He is enrolled in a high school program that is preparing him to go to trade school. He hopes to be a mechanic, a welder or a plumber.
Everette went to Carowinds for the first time when he came into foster care and he absolutely loved it. His favorite rides are the ones that go fast or upside down. He has asked for a season's pass so he can go next season as much as he wants!
