Brittany was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and has lived with a disability her entire life. At the age of 12, she entered foster care after her caregivers were both hospitalized, leaving her and her siblings without a safe home. Her mother was in jail, and her father has never been in her life. Brittany remained in foster care until she turned 18 and aged out of the system.
