April's journey in the foster care system began when she was just 12 years old. Throughout her childhood, she was moved several times between different placements, including foster homes, relatives' homes, and group homes. At the age of 14, she was reunited with her mother, but by 15, she had to return to foster care. Despite her challenging upbringing, April is determined to build a better future for herself. She is working towards a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), with the main goal of improving her life. April maintains a positive mindset and has learned to find the good even in difficult situations, which has helped her persevere. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, thrifting, and exploring new parts of her community.
