Yvette is a Latina who is proud of and loves her Mexican culture and people. She was placed in foster care at age 5 and has experienced approximately 8 placement changes over the years. She was born with drugs in her system and has struggled through most of her life with managing her mental health, emotions, and reactivity. She determined she wanted to turn her life around and move in a more positive direction by learning to manage her emotions, process her trauma, and, as a young adult, has successfully enrolled in school and recently secured a part-time job.
