Allison, 4 years old, NJ
Allison is a sweet little girl who loves to play pretend. She adores dolls, unicorns, Minnie Mouse, and all things girly. Before entering the child welfare system, she lived with a caregiver who gave her sleep medicine every night instead of helping her develop a healthy bedtime routine. As a result, Allison has difficulty settling down and falling asleep on her own. Her foster family is patiently helping her develop new evening routines—quiet music, a calming bath, a favorite stuffed animal, and soothing lotions—to guide her toward sweet, restful dreams.
