Matthew is athletic, smart, and adventurous. He cares deeply for his sister, who lives in another foster home. He and his older sister were found on a corner, homeless. Their mother has significant mental health and substance misuse challenges, and she did not have the means or provisions to support and care for her children. Both children also witnessed domestic violence with their fathers, and that is what brought Matthew and his sister into protective custody.
