Benita is doing everything she can to build a better life for herself and her son. As a former foster youth, she has faced many challenges and learned to navigate adulthood much sooner than most young people. She is working hard to beat the statistics and create a different future for her family. With the support of many people in her life, she is learning, growing, and taking steps toward becoming the independent mother and young woman she wants to be. Even after everything she has been through, she still has a kind heart. She treats people with respect, cares about others, and tries to help when she can. She has every reason to give up, but instead, she keeps pushing forward for herself and her son.
