Shawn's family is struggling economically to continue living in northern NJ. Even though Shawn is a pre-teen, he has expressed that he wants his family to eat dinner every night as a family, but, the family doesn't have money to budget for this luxury. Shawn says the family eats in different parts of the home right now and he would give anything to have the chance to connect with his family over this beautiful table for meals.
Shawn is 14 years old and lives in NJ
Shawn is an amazingly bright young man with a promising future. Shawn has two other siblings with him under DCP&P monitoring. Shawn does well in school, however, can do much better with caring, supportive adults helping him and his siblings. Shawn engages with the Urban League adults assigned to his family and seeks help in staying on track with his schoolwork.
