Therapeutic Interagency ProgramVertez is a very sensitive boy who doesn't speak very much. He has witnessed a lot of scary things, and is learning ways to feel more safe and secure. He relies on his siblings for comfort and security, and is very nurturing to them as well. He likes to watch other kids play and enjoys playing with play doh and other hands on materials.
Vertez's mom was finally able to leave a very abusive situation, and she is able to keep her kids with her as long as she can secure housing and safety for them. She had been in foster care herself, and her goal is to keep her kids with her and not have them experience going into care if she can prevent it. In their new home, there are no beds and Vertez really needs a mattress so that he can be more comfortable rather than sleeping on the floor. This will help make it feel much safer and start to feel like home.
