Shopping fun for James who is a hardworker

Posted Dec 8, 2023
James is working hard to get good grades in school. So far, he is passing all of his classes, and his finals are coming up soon. He is also getting extra help with the free tutoring program they offer at school. James gave up a few shifts at work this month to give him extra time to study. He needs a little extra help this month with some personal care essentials such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap and deodorant. Granting this wish would be so helpful.

James is 20 years old and lives in NJ

James has been in foster care since 2012, when the relative with whom he was living became homeless. Since then, James has moved from placement to placement, feeling more lost as each one failed. He is still hoping to be reunified with a family member or adopted by another family, but in the meantime, tries his hardest to fit in and adapt to each new situation. He loves sports, especially football and basketball.

"Thank you for granting James's wish for essentials through One Simple Wish. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA's) are assigned to advocate for the best interest of children in court after they've been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. It is such a comfort for the kids we serve to receive something special, like the wish you've granted, while they are in foster care. Thanks to your generosity our CASA child's day has been made a little bit brighter: Warmest Regards, Monica Davidson"
