Maya is adjusting well after being separated from her family. In school, she works hard and loves music class. She is interested in picking up an instrument and learning how to play. Although she is unsure of which instrument because she thinks they all look fun. Maya can be quiet but once she feels safe and comfortable she will open up and engage in conversation. She loves to write and Journals daily. Writing helps her express herself.

Maya's favorite restaurant is Applebee's. It is where she used to go all the time with her mother before she was placed in foster care. She would love to go to Applebee's with her new foster family for dinner one night as she hasn't been there in over a year. Sharing a meal at her favorite restaurant will help bring back memories of good times with her mom while creating new ones with the new foster family.
