Kay spent years in foster care and became pregnant at 16. When no foster home would allow her to keep her baby with her, she went through legal proceedings to get herself emancipated. At 16, she was officially a new mom living on her own. Kay is now an adult and has two little girls. She now works with foster teens in a foster care group home and has become very important to the girls living there. She wants to make a difference and be a support for these young people.

Unfortunately, Kay broke her pelvis during her pregnancy and had to undergo surgery. While she was out of work recovering, she was unable to pay rent and had no one to turn to for help. Although she went back to work as soon as she was medically cleared, she faced an eviction notice. She was able to pay the rent for February, late, and March's rent, but the court case has remained open since the apartment complex is asking for her to pay late fees, attorney fees, and filing fees. So she's struggling to catch up with everything. The good news is that Kay is now more stable, but she needs a little help paying the utilities deposit.
