Scarlet has spent much of her life in foster care. Currently, she lives independently in the upstairs of a local beacon where her foster parent works. Scarlet is a remarkable girl who works hard every day to achieve her independence. Despite the many challenges she has faced, she manages to keep a smile on her face as often as possible. She enjoys drawing and singing, and she loves visiting with her sister. Scarlet also has a niece who brings joy to her life, and she cherishes the time they spend playing together.

Scarlet is working hard to find a job, but where she is staying, there is no way to communicate with the outside world. She doesn’t have a phone and has no cell phone either. Scarlet wants to work and save money to get her own place so she can be independent. She urgently needs a cell phone, not only to help her find a job but also for emergencies and to stay in touch with her siblings and family outside of foster care. Having a phone would enable her to call potential employers, reach out during emergencies, and maintain communication with her loved ones.
