Mikiyah is the sweetest girl anyone can meet. She loves Barbie dolls and meeting new friends. She loves reading out loud. Now that her family is back together after being separated for a while and put into foster care, she reads her little brother's bedtime stories. Mikiyah also stutters and lets everyone know that one day she will grow out of it, and reading out loud will help her with her stuttering,

Mikiyah has been growing up so fast, and her feet seem to be outpacing her! As the school year progresses, she finds herself in need of new shoes. Although she's never owned a pair of Nikes, she's been dreaming of a green and white pair. She imagines how great they would look with her favorite outfits and how comfortable they would feel during recess. Mikiyah promises to take great care of her Nikes, keeping them clean and making sure to take them off as soon as she steps inside from school. For Christmas, getting that pair of Nikes would truly make her day and add an extra sparkle to the holiday season!
