Alina is one of the hardest-working kids! She currently lives in a girls' group home, and although each day presents its challenges, she faces them with a smile. Alina is familiar with foster care, as this is her second time in the system.

Alina has always felt a sense of longing during her school holiday parties, where she’s never managed to bring a dish of her own. This year, however, she is determined to change that. She envisions herself walking into the festivities with a platter of beautifully decorated sugar cookies, their soft, golden edges glistening with a light dusting of colorful sprinkles. The delightful aroma of vanilla and buttery sweetness fills her thoughts, and she can already imagine the smiles on her classmates' faces as they gather around to enjoy the treats. With enough cookies to ensure that everyone can indulge, Alina feels excited about the idea of finally contributing something meaningful to the celebration, just like her peers. It would be her moment to shine and truly feel part of the joyful holiday spirit!
