Mercedes grew up with a rough childhood. Now that she has her BA and works full-time to support transition-age foster youth, she is excited to make a difference in the world. That said, her work is heavy and often brings up memories of dark times from her own life. Lately, the holidays and work have become difficult for her to manage.
