Kimberly’s goal in life is to become a dental hygienist. Her time in foster care has shaped her into a more independent and responsible person. Despite the challenges of being in the system, she took advantage of available opportunities, such as AB12, and moved into her own apartment at 18 and a half years old. She loved experiencing this new freedom of living on her own for the first time. Initially, she felt uncertain and worried that she might lose track of her goals. However, this experience allowed her to grow more mature and confident. Being in the foster care system has provided her with peace of mind, knowing that she will be supported no matter what decisions she makes or which journey she chooses. Overall, foster care helped her become a capable adult. In her free time, her favorite activities include painting and spending time at the beach.

Due to the recent fires in Los Angeles, Kimberly found herself unexpectedly forced to stay home from work, resulting in a significant reduction in her hours from 32 to just 8. This sudden change has placed a considerable financial burden on her, as she usually manages her payments diligently. However, with her temporary decrease in income, Kimberly is experiencing some challenges this month. She is committed to resolving her balance as quickly as possible while ensuring that she can continue using her card without issue in the future.
