Bryson is a remarkable boy living in a challenging situation. He is one of six siblings from a divorced family where the parents struggle to co-parent. While all five of his siblings live with their mother, Bryson resides with his father and has been in foster care several times over the past few years. Bryson is open about his feelings, and his emotions can sometimes overwhelm him. During a recent group discussion about his hopes for the future, Bryson expressed a wish that his parents could get along better so that they wouldn’t have to spend the holidays apart. He is working hard to build his self-esteem and confidence, helping him understand that his circumstances do not define him. Bryson has so much to offer the world, and we are grateful to have him as part of our school family. He often prefers to do without rather than ask his parents for expensive items for middle school, knowing that it could lead to conflicts.
