Jon’s early life has been filled with challenges. For the first half of his childhood, he experienced homelessness, often left in the care of strangers while his parents struggled with substance use. After enduring this hardship, he fell into a coma and was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Despite everything he has faced, Jon remains hopeful for a brighter future, dreaming of the day he will find a loving family to adopt him.

Jon has been learning how to manage his condition, yet he carries the weight of fear—fear of judgment from others, especially at school when he has to give himself insulin shots. He really wants an Apple Watch to help monitor his diabetes. His blood sugar levels fluctuate significantly, going from very high to extremely low in just a few hours. Although he can check his sensor on his phone, a watch would let him discreetly check his blood sugar status. This would help him avoid feeling like he is the center of attention while at school.
