Kathie entered the foster care system when she was 13 years old and spent a lot of time in group homes. She was homeless when she aged out but never gave up her dream of being independent, having a home of her own, and perhaps becoming a singer. Kathie has a lovely voice and has sung at different community events as well as volunteered at functions to give back to the community. Her dream has shifted somewhat as she now has a 3-year-old daughter and a son on the way. She just recently moved into her own apartment and is concentrating on making it a great home for the children

Kathie lost her laptop when someone she trusted threw it away, taking her music and memories with it. Having a laptop would give her the chance to rebuild and create new projects and help keep her on top of daily goals and tasks.
