The Lost & Found InstituteMark had a tough start in life, growing up in a kinship placement and becoming independent at just 16 years old. He learned early on how to take care of himself and developed a strong work ethic. Since he didn't celebrate many holidays or special occasions as a child, he now focuses on making the most of each day instead. Mark runs his own remodeling and landscaping business, and he's dedicated to making it successful. People appreciate his hard work and problem-solving skills, even though his business is still getting off the ground. While Mark is independent and driven, he often struggles with balancing work and personal life. It’s tough for him to open up to others, and he rarely takes time to celebrate his achievements. He does find joy in his work and personal projects, but he’s gradually realizing how important it is to build relationships and enjoy life outside of work. Looking ahead, Mark hopes to expand his business and create a team that shares his values while also finding more happiness and connection in his personal life.
This year, Mark is asking for a Target gift card so he can purchase food for his Thanksgiving meal. He’s hoping to pick up things like mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, rolls, and maybe even ingredients for a special casserole or macaroni and cheese. Being able to buy these dishes would help him create a fuller, more comforting holiday spread to share with family and friends. This would ease the financial stress and allow Mark to focus on what really matters—good food, warm company, and a Thanksgiving table filled with gratitude.
