Richard is a very intelligent boy who lives with his grandmother. He gets good grades and loves to read. Food, however, trumps reading for sure. He is also very dependable and helpful around the house.

Richard is growing taller every day. When he’s not playing video games, he enjoys shooting basketball outside. Sometimes, he even helps his grandmother cook. Last week, he went to the mall with his friends and saw a pair of Nike shoes that caught his eye. He took a picture of them and asked his mom and grandmother if he could have them for Christmas. He promised that he would spend more time in the kitchen if he got the shoes. Richard would really love to have the pair of Nike shoes he has been wanting.
