KFS&CJax is a sweet boy whose smile lights up the room. Like most children his age, he loves Paw Patrol, Cocomelon, and Sesame Street. However, Jax is different because he has been diagnosed with autism, a sensory disorder, and a speech delay. For him, every day is a struggle to find ways to communicate with his family in a way they can understand. Jax experienced a breakthrough when he spoke his first word at the age of five; his first word was "mama."
Jax is a remarkable non-verbal autistic child from a low-income family who has faced significant emotional challenges due to instability in his home life. His past iPad was not just a device; it was a vital tool that helped him communicate through a flashcard app recommended by his therapist. However, since losing that iPad, Jax has struggled immensely to express his basic needs, often feeling frustrated when he can't ask for simple things like water, snacks, or toys. This has heightened his feelings of isolation and led to increased stimming behaviors. This Christmas, giving Jax a new iPad would mean everything to him, allowing him to regain independence and explore a world filled with possibilities, ultimately supporting his communication and journey with autism.
