Ava has spent much of her childhood in and out of foster care. She was diagnosed with lupus at a very young age, which affects her ability to live life like any other ordinary kid. Despite these challenges, she has not let them hold her back from pursuing her dreams. She attends college part-time while also working a full-time job. Ava has big aspirations to do good in the world.

Lupus can make walking very painful for Ava. In an effort to combat this, she has been taking longer walks every day. However, she doesn't feel comfortable going for walks late in the evening, and the weather can often be unpredictable. A walking pad would be an ideal solution for her, allowing her to walk indoors regardless of the conditions outside. Not only would this gift be practical for Ava, but it would also serve as a significant motivation for her to keep pushing herself.
