Angel is a bright young man who enjoys playing different sports, hanging out with his family (including his little sister), and skating with his friends. Angel has been in and out of the foster care system since he was a baby. At times, he returned to his parents, but was then removed again on multiple occasions. Angel has flashbacks from his past, and he is reminded of the hardships he went through in the care of his parents, but also in the care of some foster homes. Despite all of this, Angel remains a respectful young man who still laughs and makes jokes with his social worker and with those around him.

Angel has gone through many transitions over the years, and with each move, he often had to leave some of his personal belongings behind. Recently, he was joyfully reunited with his father, and their happiness at being together again is palpable. With Angel's birthday approaching and the anticipation of starting at a new school, excitement fills the air. His father, a dedicated single parent raising three children, is currently navigating some financial challenges. Despite this, Angel's wish for his upcoming birthday is simple yet meaningful: he hopes for a new backpack to carry his school supplies. As he embarks on this new chapter in his life, that backpack symbolizes not just his academic journey but also the bond he shares with his father during this time of change and growth.
