Jelani, also known as Jay, is currently living in a foster home separate from his biological siblings. He regularly keeps in touch with his family and often thinks about them. He loves to read and aspires to become a journalist in the future. In school, Jelani has many friends, is a member of the choir, and actively takes on leadership roles whenever possible.

Jay has lived in various placements across New Jersey, forming friendships in several towns along the way. With his birthday approaching, he thought it would be a great idea to invite all his friends to Chili's to celebrate and meet one another. To help make this celebration possible, Jay is hoping to receive a gift card to Chili's to cover the cost of his birthday dinner.
