A baseball glove for Wrigley who is excited to join the team
Wrigley, 14 years old, CA
Wish submitted by:
CA DCFS - Los Angeles CountyWrigley entered the system just a month before his 9th birthday. Due to the abuse he experienced, he faced severe mental health challenges, leading to frequent changes in his placements, which included hospitalizations, family homes, foster homes, and a group home. Wrigley is determined to do better and does not want to follow in his parents' footsteps. Wrigley has successfully integrated and is following the rules of his placement and getting along with his peers. Wrigley is smart, funny, and helpful. He has been teaching himself how to play the piano, as the group home has a piano in the living room. He is also very skilled at video games and saved his allowance to buy a phone for himself.
Wrigley is gearing up to start high school next year, and understandably, he's feeling nervous. He’s very aware of his status in foster care and recognizes how it sets him apart from his peers. To help him cope with these feelings, his support team has been encouraging him by highlighting some exciting aspects of high school, particularly the opportunity to try out for sports. Wrigley has his sights set on joining the high school's baseball team, and he’s eager to hone his skills. To practice effectively, he would love to have a baseball glove and ball to help him get ready for tryouts.
