Sociology textbook for Tonya

Tonya, 25 years old, NY

City Living NY

Tonya is a passionate young woman living in NYC and navigating adult life after leaving foster care in 2022. She loves to help people feel their best and confident. In her free time, Tonya relaxes by walking to Central Park and binge-watching her favorite TV shows.

After aging out of foster care, Tonya found that the transition meant stepping into independence quickly, managing housing, bills, and school planning largely on her own. She recently enrolled in a sociology class as part of her continued education. The required textbook, Sociology: An Introduction by Richard T. Schaefer, is more than she can afford right now while she is working to cover her basics by herself and stay on track. Having this textbook would mean she can keep up with readings, participate fully in class, and complete assignments without falling behind. It is a practical need, but it also represents something bigger for Tonya, having the tools she needs to show up for school and keep building stability one step at a time.

"Thank you so much for your generous support in supplying Tonya with a much-needed textbook! Your support has allowed Tonya to feel prepared and be able to focus on learning instead of stressing about how to get through the semester without the materials she needs. She will be able to follow along in class, do her work, and be successful in her studies. When someone is building stability piece by piece, support like this can mean everything! Thank you for helping lighten the load for Tonya and for making it easier for her to keep going."
