Coco entered the dependency system shortly before turning 18 due to domestic violence between her father and stepmother. She also experienced abuse by her stepfather. Because she entered care so close to adulthood and aged out in non-relative care, she did not qualify for many of the benefits typically available to youth in the system, so she struggled tremendously. Despite these significant challenges, Coco earned her Associate of Arts degree from Miami Dade College. She currently runs her own cleaning business while also working part-time at a restaurant. She is an extremely hardworking and motivated young woman!

Coco has faced ongoing challenges but has demonstrated remarkable perseverance. Through her part-time jobs and cleaning work, she saved enough money to secure her own apartment. She is extremely proud of this achievement, as it is located in a safe neighborhood and represents the first place she can truly call home. After using all her savings to cover the move-in costs, Coco is currently in need of essential household items, including a bed frame. Assistance in providing these items would offer meaningful support as she embarks on this new chapter and help ensure she has a stable and healthy living environment.
