Jay is a resilient and determined young man who has experienced being in foster care twice. He is hopeful about finding a permanent home. His disruptions in family attachment led him to become involved with gangs and crime in search of community and connection with loved ones. However, he is now learning healthy coping skills and finds comfort in his interests, which include football, video games, and music. Despite his past, Jay is kind, funny, and intelligent, and he continues to make progress every day. He is currently an A student and has become a self-taught vocalist and music producer, with a bright future ahead.

Jay's favorite hobby is writing, recording, and producing music. He desires home studio equipment, such as a microphone, foam isolation shield, and headphones, to support his goal of becoming a musician. In foster care, he cannot always rely on others for transportation or to pay for studio sessions. Having his own equipment would allow him to improve his skills while engaging in a healthy activity that occupies his time.
