Lucas entered foster care at the age of 3 after experiencing instability during his first three years with family. Shortly thereafter, he was diagnosed with autism and is considered non-verbal. Despite this, he is incredibly intelligent, playful, and has a great love for food! His favorite activities include jumping, spinning, and watching his siblings play. Lucas was adopted into a large family that includes many children with special needs.

Lucas would benefit from zipper bedding to assist him with his delayed motor skills, which affect his ability to make his bed due to prenatal drug exposure and his autism diagnosis. He is working diligently in occupational therapy (OT) to become more independent, and his therapist has recommended this bedding to support that goal. Lucas often gets frustrated when someone tries to help him complete tasks. With this simple zipper design, he will feel a sense of independence and pride in being able to accomplish this task on his own.
