Kyra is a caring and determined young woman. She spent most of her teenage years in foster care before being placed with her grandmother. When her grandmother’s dementia progressed, Kyra was forced to move out and spent over 3 years homeless, often couch-surfing or sleeping in her car. Kyra recently moved into an apartment and is finally able to prioritize her career, mental health and physical health.

Kyra has been working diligently to complete her medical assistant program and is now entering her externship, which is the final step before graduation. She is excited and wants to present herself with confidence and professionalism. Having a hair straightener would help Kyra look and feel her best as she begins her externship and prepares for a career in the medical field.
