Arizona's Children Association

Julian entered the DCS system when he was 9 years old and, since then, has experienced several changes in his life, going through a foster home and 4 group homes. He has not had any adoption attempts. His biological family returned to Mexico, so he currently has no contact with his parents. His greatest support is his adult sister, who left the CPS system. Although they have both faced many challenges, they maintain a strong bond and support each other. Throughout his time in the system, he has proven to be a strong, resilient young man with a desire to succeed. He is motivated to find a job to learn independence and start saving money, as he wants to prepare for adulthood and build a stable future for himself. In his free time, he enjoys building with Legos and playing video games, activities that allow him to relax and express his creativity. He also deeply values the concept of family. Although his path has not been easy, he remains hopeful about building meaningful relationships in his life. One of his defining qualities is his commitment to honesty. He himself says he will always be honest, no matter the circumstances. His determination, his values, and his desire to improve himself make him a special young man with great potential to achieve his goals and create a better future.

Julian is requesting an electric scooter because it would be an important tool for improving his mobility and independence. He currently relies on public transportation, and the scooter would allow him to travel more easily and quickly between the bus stop and his group home. Having this transportation option would help him better manage his daily responsibilities and move around his community with greater confidence. Julian is highly motivated to find a job so he can begin developing independence skills and saving money as he prepares for adulthood. If he gets a job within a 10-mile radius, he plans to use the scooter as his primary means of transportation to and from work. This would reduce a significant transportation barrier and increase his chances of maintaining steady employment. For him, this scooter would not only be a means of transportation but also a tool that would help him move toward his goals, develop greater independence, and prepare for a more stable future. Having this support would have a significant impact on his transition to adulthood and his ability to be self-reliant.
